I have a calypso top loading washing machine and the error

I have a calypso top loading washing machine and the error code CE keeps coming on, even when there is nothing in the washing machine. I took the clothes out and there is still some water in the bottom of the tub. No matter what setting I try to put it on, CE keeps coming up.

CE means communications Error, if there is any breakdown in communication between the machine controller and the motor controller "CE" flashes in the unit beeps once, some common causes of "CE" errors include,

1 conformal coating on the serial communications pins with the connectors in place. Make sure the harness does not have a bad connection

 

2 check the resistance values between the serial communications pins with the connectors in place. Make sure the harness does not have a bad connection.

 

3 check the quick disconnect at the motor terminal.

 

4 drive motor thermal protector has opened

 

5 motor controller is not powered or fuse has opened. Replaced the motor controller

 

this is what comes up in the service manual, the usual problem however is a motor controller is bad, do you have a full model number? Let me know thanks, Bryan

How do I check the other things? I have no idea what they are.

You need to trace the wiring harness and check all the plugs, these are very complicated machines but in most cases it's going to be a loose plug on either the control board or motor control board, you will need to open the machine up to check these, unfortunately there is no simple fix for your problem, it's a process of elimination, I wish there was an easy button but unfortunately there isn't, you will need to open the machine up and checked the plugs both on the main control board and the top and the motor control board at the bottom they are all tight then the motor control needs to be replaced, hope this helps, thanks, Bryan

I did accept your answer, but then lost the link the comment. I appreciate your help and the time you took. Unfortunately, I think I will have to call the repair service anyway, as I don't feel comfortable opening up the washing machine.
