Do you have a model number so that I can better assist you? Also, the unit only fills correct? It is completely silent all other times? Does the timer advance to the end even though it doesn't do anything?

unit only fills, no humming, silent, i dont see the timer advancing

There is a sensor switch that tends to fail often on this unit that will cause this problem. If you remove the control console there is a unit switch with a control bord build onto it that cuts out the power to everything except the fill. Below is a link tot he switch you need to order.
