Just had model mmv5208 installed replacing a similar one. Old one vented out the back and away. This one vents with stron fan up towards ceiling & cabinets above it. Concernted about steam etc warping cabinets. Can this model be modified to vent outside as the previous one did?

Hi Bryan

Okay great, you can set this up to vent through the back instead of straight up, on this diagram part number 6 is the blower assembly which you need to do is turn it so the vent blower fan exhaust is facing back. You do this by removing the cover in the screws holding the blower assembly lifted up out of the whole it sits in and turn the whole assembly so the blower is facing back, this will allow it to vent out the back instead of up, here is the diagram, so basically you lift number six right up out of the spot it sits in and just turn it around until the fan is in a position to blow out the back. All microwaves have this set up because some people have vents in the back and some have them vent straight up, and people it don't have vents in their home can set it so it doesn't blow out at all, as you can see number six has screw holes all the way around towards the center so you can turn it in different directions and set it back down in the screws will go back in the new holes that are facing up, hope this isn't too complicated for you but as you look at it it's really not that hard to do, thanks and well wishes, Bryan
