Is it in anyway harmful to use the microwave now, and what is the magnetron , will the machine stop working altogether whenit goes?
Expert:  Tom Johnston replied 6 years ago.
No its not harmful to use the microwave. the magnetron will just quit and then the unit will no longer heat. It is what creates the heat. It is inside the microwave on the right hand side. You have to remove the outer case to access it.
