Thin plastic lid was loaded on top rack - back center. DW

Resolved Question:

Thin plastic lid was loaded on top rack - back center. DW ran for a few seconds and stopped. Lid had slid down and was jammed in - blocking input valve to upper propellar. We removed lid and turned off braker and rebooted and reset buttons. Red light on far right top of door was blinking 7 consecutive times. Water did not come in - or only a trickle. It "ran" but with no water. Water that was already in there emptied. Model # XXXXX

Is this something we can fix ourselves?

There are a few items to check in this circuit. This would be the heating circuit. Do you know how to use a volt/ohm meter? We will need to check the micro door switches, the heating element, the thermistor, and the water valve selenoid. If you dont feel comfortable in doing this because we will be working with volts then its best to get a technician to come and do this to rule parts out.
