Resolved Question:

Our GE Profile Model 26 with bottom freezer lost power for a few minutes. Display panel blinks "88" with no response when buttons are pushed. Refrigerator and freezer appear to be functioning properly but not sure.

Hi....Bob here... I see you are having a problem with your fridge.What you have just described is a failed Main control board..The GE boards are easily damaged due to power surges..Unfortunately the only fix is to replace the board..The board is located at the back of unit behind the silver plate halfway up from bottom of fridge.

Do I need a technician to replace the board? Or is it something simple to do?

The board is a simple swap..The wire connections at the board cannot be installed incorrectly as each one has a different size plugin on the board.The new board will come with instructions also.
