hello, welcome to just answer. my name is XXXXX XXXXX and i will be happy to assist you with your problem. What brand of dryer are we looking at here?
Please get me the brand, make and model number.
this is most likely either the drum rollers or the blower fan
It is a whirpool duet I don't know what the model number is XXXXX it is about 6 years old
i will need the model number if you want me to tell you how to take it appart and get you the part numbers. this is found inside the door opening or on the rear of the unit.
please give me one min to pull this model up
ok thank you
the first thing you want to check is the drum rollers. these dryers are a little harder to dissemble than your normal dryer. you need to first remove the top and then the front panel. there are screws across the rear of the top and then it will slide to the rear and lift off.
Next you will need to remove the 4 screws holding the top of the control panel on. make sure that there are only four. (some models have 6). it will then fold down and unclip from the bottom.
Now you can access the 2 screws holding the front on.
If I can't get to this tonight and I am working on laundry will it hurt the dryer to use it for a couple of days until I can get to this?
most likely the damage is done. it will not hurt anything else at this point but dont wait too long. You can use www.appliancepartspros.com for a break down of the unit and to order parts at a discounted price.
you will most likely find a bad drum roller. when you go to install the new ones be sure to oil them well. use an oil like 3-1 or zoom. also oil the ones that you are not replacing and the idler pulley for the belt. The bearing drying out is what causes them to go bad in the first place so by oiling them will get you twice the life out of them.
