Maytag MDG2600BWW -- No Heat, The Dryer has been working

Maytag MDG2600BWW -- No Heat,
The Dryer has been working perfectly. However, today the heat failed to come on. The dryer still goes through its cycle but only blows cold air. What should I check?

Hi, Thanks for using Just Answer. If you have an ohm meter the first things to check would be the thermostats. They should all have continuity through them.

After checking those, if they check ok you need to check the igniter and the flame sensor.

How would I check the ignighter and the flame sensor. You can be more specific, as I am very familiar with troubleshooting equipment. I am an electrician with an assoc in electronics.

Check for voltage (120VAC) to burner
Check ignitor continuity.
Check for gas supply.
Check flame switch continuity, (0 ohms
when cold).
Check gas valves for continuity.
Check thermostat for continuity

The Ignighter is open and I can see what appears to be a crack in the element. Can this be bypassed to double check? Everything else seems to have continuity. Which pins on the themostsat on the exhaust should have continuity, and does this have any factor on the burner?
If you see a crack in the igniter, that is your problem.
