Our dishwasher just seems to run on. It has drained the water

Resolved Question:

Our dishwasher just seems to run on. It has drained the water from the bottom but seems to be struggling to get to the next part of the cycle. Tried "resetting" it and that doesn't seem to work. This has happened before and corrected itself but it's getting frustrating that it's happening again. Why would this be happening? How do we fix it?

ok, you need to pull the machine out and check the float it the catch pan underneath the machine, this is stuck in the up position, sometimes theres water in the pan , you need to dry that completely, there will be a small opening in the side on the left you can get a small towel in and sop up any water in the pan, if thats not the problem then the heater is bad and the water isn't getting heated enough in the rinse to let the machine finish.
