My panasonic microwave stops after about 20 seconds

If I try to defrost or cook anything i programme the heat level (say medium) for 5 minutes. The microwave starts and after about 20-30 seconds it stops.If i press start again it will not start up. it also is not even getting warm during that 30 seconds. and there are no beeps when it stops
does the turntable still work when heating?
Yes it does still go round. I have also switch it off at the mains then started it up again ,still no joy
