Resolved Question:

need to unlock my GE Profile oven. Some buttons were pushed by babysitter while away. Manual lost from previous homeowner. surely there's a code we just need to punch in to "unlock".

Hi my name is XXXXX XXXXX and 9 at the same time.
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
That hasn't worked. Any other ideas?

Is the oven door locked..?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
It does not lock manually...only digitally/electronically. When we press '0' and '9' together, the lock comes on and stays visible on screen. When we press them together again, the word "lock" leaves the screen. But when you push 'bake' or something else to turn it on, the word 'loc' flashes on the screen and will not let us move forward to program to actually turn the oven on. Should we reset the oven with breaker or unplug it? Or do you have any other recommendations? Never had any trouble with it before.

If the lock disappears then your computer is most likely shorted..Try first pressing 0/9 then once the lock light comes off..Unplug..Then plug back in...What is the model number of oven..?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Model J896680D1BB

Serial DA243747ZQ

Unplugged it as you suggested. Still doing it.

Did the "unlock "remove from the readout before you disconnected..?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
not sure. we will try again and get back to you
Expert:  Bob L Your Appl Pal replied 6 years ago.
If the code you pushed removed the lock then your computer is faulty..Also once you use the accept option today if you have the time please stop by and leave some feedback or my time helping you thanks Bob

We've tried it both ways--with "loc" on screen and without. Unplug...then the screen is clear with flashing time, but will not allow us to move forward to set a temp or baking time. Does this mean it's faulty? Can a basic repairman repair this or do we need to call someone who speciailizes?
