I have an old Maytag electric oven. It came with the house

Resolved Question:

I have an old Maytag electric oven. It came with the house when we bought it. The heating element for the oven went out on it in a smolder of glory.
I searched for our model online it has been discontinued. Are there parts from other ovens that maytag has that would work?

S.E.Thomas :

you can remove the old element and take it to a local appliance parts store and they can match it up with a new one. are you sure that is the correct model number? did you get this directly from the model serial tag?

S.E.Thomas :

this does not appear to be a correct model number even for the age of the unit?

JACUSTOMER-8pj30sgd- :

CFE9000BCB it's hard to read on the tag on the unit

S.E.Thomas :

that is better. one min and i will get you the part number

S.E.Thomas :

this part can be found at www.appliancepartspros..com at a discounted price.

Sorry. Out of town.

My issue is that the part you recommended is not the same part number as the one found through the Maytag website.
So I pay for your answer, then get the part you recommend, how do I know that your part is the right one when the manufacturers part is a different number entirely??
That is my concern.
Expert:  S.E.Thomas replied 6 years ago.
there are many different part numbers used by different company. you most likely have 74003019. that is the original part number and has been changed many times over the years. if you enter any of these numbers you will se3e they all are the same element.
