the drum being in or out will not make any difference. had to just be a coincidence. what was the original problem that made you take the unit apart?
The igniter was bad and could not get to it with out taking the drum out
so you have changed the igniter and now what is the problem? will it still not light?
It lite's every time I check it with out the drum installed. Once I install the drum and put it back together it will not lite. The ingniter comes on but will not ignite the gas. I took the front cover off and disconnect the belt and it will lite every time. I've looked to see if there was a safety switch or something of that nature by the belt or motor but haven't found anything.
you still there?
im on line for a little while so let me know if you can chat
if the igniter glows but the gas does not come on then you have a bad set of coils. this will also sometimes let it light one or two times but then stop.
here are the part numbers.
this is found at www.appliancepartspros.com at the discounted price
I have already replaced the coils with brand new ones.
then you have a loose connection if the gas does not light with the belt on
check the eye on the side of the burner tube
was working out of town this week. I just checked all conections checked the eyes. Still same problem. I guess I will just have to call the repair man.
so you are saying that if the belt is off the dryer will light?
but if the belt is on it will not?
this is almost not possible. the only explanation for this would be a loose connection somewhere. do you have a volt meter? if so let me know when you can be online with me and i will walk you through the testing process to see where we are losing the power. when the belt is on does the ingiter still glow?
I just gave up on the dryer, Went and bought a new one. Thanks for your help.
