We have a Wirlpool side by side GS6NBEXRL00 ss#SS4566924

The ice maker stopped making ice a few days ago. The water dispenser still works, the arguer still turns around when you touch the ice dispenser pad. We unplugged the power cord and left the refrigerator unplugged for about 30 seconds. After plugging the unit back in it took about 2 minuets for the red led, that senses when the door is open, to start flashing again. But no ice. What next.

If you open the door first, look at the red light to the right, is it flashing 2 times and then pausing over and over? If you shut the flap on the left side and make a clear path from right to left, does the light turn solid?

OK, now look inside the icemaker itself, is there any ice or water in the icemaker mold? There are white fingers that push the ice out of the icemaker mold, what direction are they facing? Are they above the horizon or below? Pointing forward or backwards?

#1 the light flashes twice and keeps repeating the pattern

#3no ice or water. the fingers are level (on the horizion) They are pointing towards the back of the freezer.

ok so you have a bad icemaker. The icemaker fingers should NEVER stop any direction but forward and up at a 45 degree angle. If it stops any other direction, it means your icemaker needs to be replaced.
