The lid switch could be the problem if the lid switch is ok it could be one of the control boards lift the lid up and down and tell me if you hear a click from that switch.

the lid switch is fine. If you lift it while it's in operation, it stops whatever it is doing. When it should be on spin cycle, it hums like it's trying but nothing turns inside the tub. you can lift the lid far enough to stick your hand in there and nothing is moving. It acts like it's trying to spin but nothing happens.

You can tip the washer back and try to spin the transmission pulley both ways to see if it will turn both ways if it only turns the one way the tub bearing could be seized up.

If you want to find a service tech your better off calling Sears to fix that model , i have a feeling that its a costly repair and Sears are more qualified to work on that model.
