My frigidaire dryer is not getting hot. Its running, but no

Customer Question

My frigidaire dryer is not getting hot. It's running, but no heat. I've cleaned out vent on the roof and replaced the thermal fuse. Still nothing. What could it be?

Thanks for the question.

You said you replaced the thermal fuse did you look at the element and do you have 220 volts to the dryer please.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
I'm not sure on the voltage? I have the three-pronged electric dryer, model #ferb6600es0. Is the heating element something I can do?

Yes its a part you can replace but i would make sure your getting 220 volts to the dryer before you order the element, you can lift the top up and remove the front then pull the drum out to check the element. pull the plug before you pull the drum out.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Thanks. I will get back to you later on today when I check if that is okay?
Expert:  John replied 4 years ago.
Ok sounds good talk later.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
One last thing- how do i tell if it is getting the voltage, of if the element is bad?
Expert:  John replied 4 years ago.
The element you will see a broken coil, as far as the voltage to the dryer you need a volt meter to check that.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Sorry. Getting to it tonight. Kid got in the way last night and then I will. Is it hard to take off the drum?
Expert:  John replied 4 years ago.
It can be a bit the best way is to remove the belt from the motor pulley then give the drum belt a yank to pull the back bearing ball out of its holder which is plastic, just yank till the drum pops out the slide it towards the front.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Oy. that sounds over my head. I think I oughta just get someone out to take a look at it?
Expert:  John replied 4 years ago.
Its not that bad just try it , try this then, get a handle strong enough the slip under the belt at the top of the drum and use the back frame of the dryer as leverage then lift the handle to tighten the belt and pop it out that way.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Okay. Not holding out on you! i just want to be able to ask a question if need be and I don't want to lose contact with you.
Expert:  John replied 4 years ago.
You wont loose me try it and if you have a problem I will help you with it I will send you a complete breakdown of the dryer so you can see all the parts and how the fit together.
