We have a Classic Gaggia coffee machine and when following

Resolved Question:

We have a Classic Gaggia coffee machine and when following the starting up procedure, cannot get any water to flow from the brewing head. Tried following the procedure suggested in the instructions that there might be an air lock which was causing the self priming feature of the pump not to work but still no water coming through although it came through the steam nozzle. Have cleaned the shower disc. The machine is not used often at all and a year ago the water was only coming through in dribbles so descaled the machine and water flowed readily. Cannot understand why nothing coming through. Any suggestions?

Chances are the scale has also affected the pump and possibly has caused it to go malfunction. You would need to open it up and remove the pump and try to soak it in a descaling solution to try to free it up.

Sorry, not happy with response as already said it was descaled and worked and hasn't been used since. Also removing the pump is surely a professional job and I might as well have taken the machine to a repairer in the first instance.

You will definitely have to open it up to repair it. You are not going to be able to fix it by doing anything outside the unit. If you are not comfortable with that you will have to take it to a repair shop. I am sorry for the bad news. Have a great day!
