applianceguy :

Hi, does the unit sound the same or louder?

JACUSTOMER-mn2k9tau- :

Yes, it sounds the same. I wouldn't have known anything was wrong until it seemed that my plate was taking too long to reheat for what I had on it.

applianceguy :

How old is the unit?

JACUSTOMER-mn2k9tau- :

October 2001

applianceguy :

Can you give me the model # XXXXX inside the unit?

JACUSTOMER-mn2k9tau- :

I will go get it.

applianceguy :

ok.

JACUSTOMER-mn2k9tau- :

JVM1851WD001

applianceguy :

The most likely problem is the magnetron. You have a ten year warranty on the magnetron, part only. You will need to pay for the labor to replace. The good news is, the magnetron would have cost you more than the labor will. Call cust service # XXXXX back of your owners manual to schedule a service call.

JACUSTOMER-mn2k9tau- :

What type of price should I accept for the labor

applianceguy :

I would charge around $50.00 for trip and $30.00 labor. The magnetron would cost around $150.00.

JACUSTOMER-mn2k9tau- :

Okay. Thank you for your help.

applianceguy :

You are welcome.
