Amana side x sideARS9167AW cooling problem-evaporator coils

Resolved Question:

Amana side x sideARS9167AW cooling problem-evaporator coils are evenly heavily iced. I had changed the defrost t-stat and it seemed to run ok for about 3 days. Now same problem is occuring. My suspicion is the mechanical defrost timer is operating intermittenly. When I advanced the timer manually the heater comes on and defrosts the coils. The fan is operating normally. Please comment
