Is the thermostat bad on my whirlpool dryer if a continuity meter registers good continuity?
Optional Information: Make: Whirlpool Model: Front loader electric dryer Already Tried: I have used a continuity meter to check the thermal cut of, heater element, and high limit thermostat. I also used the meter on the thermal fuse and exhaust thermostat. All tested positive for continuity. Is it the wiring? or is it the heater relay on the mother board? If you select air only on the dryer it goes a full cycle. If you select ANY heat temperature it shuts off after 60 seconds and gives an F-23 code
please remember we are not in your home to do the repair or test our self and cant always be 100% and can always overlook something / thanksF23 is a bad thermister and it will need to be replaced ,,, Glad i could help you with your problem today so please hit the accept button for me before you leave so i may be paid ,, ThanksThe F23 error code is an exhaust thermistor error. It indicates the thermistor is shorting out. This occurs after the thermistor heats up and that is why it happens after 2 minutes.
So even though I used a continuity meter on it and it beeps, it still may need to be replaced?
the thermostat is good, what you need to replace is the thermister
I checked that too with the meter and it beeped as well...should I just replace it and see?
you cant get a reading on it that will be correct and if you jump it then it will also short it out
