Resolved Question:

I have a 10 yr old Maytag side by side refrigerator Model MSD2756 DEW.
Yesterday the freezer temp lowered to nothing. No ice build up. Today the fridge side seems to be sweating a lot and temp may be lowering but not sure

can you remove the back panel in the freezer(inside) and tell me what the frost pattern looks like on the coils?.

Customer: replied 6 years ago.

I can do this but it will take about 10 minute

no problem, do you hear any clicking or buzzing comming from the compressor?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I removed panel and the coils are free of any ice or frost and appear to be dry.

ok you need to pull the refrigerator away from the wall and remove the cover over the compressor, feel the compressor and tell me if its warm, cold or hot. also is it vibrating? (running)
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

is the compressor running?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
The fan is running and it does not appear that the compressor is running
Expert:  Bryan replied 6 years ago.
ok, a very common problem on these, the compressor relay has failed, you need this kit, Part(NNN) NNN-NNNN width=this plugs on the side of the compressor and comes with instructions, you can order this @ http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-MSD2756DEW-%3d%3dei1194748&PartID=1194748 thanks Bryan
