We have a 20 year old 501F Sub Zero freezer thats needed several

Resolved Question:

We have a 20 year old 501F Sub Zero freezer that's needed several repairs over the years. It recently stopped working entirely. The repairman first tried replacing the compressor, but the freezer stopped cooling again before long. Next, he topped up the freon levels, but it again failed. Upon opening the freezer door on his last visit, he noticed a crack along the bottom with a yellowish stain along its length. After testing, he discovered freon was leaking from the crack but said it was in a place he couldn't get to. Unfortunately, they're no longer producing this model and replacing it would mean remodeling the kitchen. Does anyone have any advice? Should we try to get another opinion or just give up on it? Thanks!

unfortunately when he says he cant get to it its because its probably near a spot that goes into the body of the freezer and leaking down into the freezer, he's correct you cant get to the leak and fix it because its up inside the Styrofoam part and you cant take the inner liner out to get to that, this is a major issue with these as they get older, replacing unfortunately is the only option, sorry, hope this info is helpful.well wishes and thanks Bryan
