JENN AIR RANGE (electric) ....F9 error code....lock in locked

This answer was rated:

JENN AIR RANGE (electric) ....F9 error code....lock in locked position w/door open due to me windexing the interior window (this happened once before & i know the fix is super simple)...disconnecting power source does not reset it....please advise...thank u
please remember we are not in your home to do the repair or test our self and cant always be 100% and can always overlook something / thanks

open the oven door and press and hold the door switch, set the oven to self clean and turn on ,, after the latch locks then turn the self clean off and then the lever runs back into the range and then you can turn loose of the door switch and close the door
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

the latch is already locked....

it is in the LOCKED POSITION

but the door is open, therefore will not close

yes i know and if you do what i said then it will unlock
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
omgosh.....lemme see if i can do that....ive never even used the self-cleaning thing....lemme back in a few....Cry
take your time ,, you will have to press and hold the door switch from start to finish
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

alrighty...this is what happened (it didnt work) Cry

i held the little door switch in, as if the door was closed

and while holding it in,

i hit the *clean* button & inserted *1* (minute, hour, i dont know)

becuz then it immediately starting beeping DOOR

now, it is back to the original F9 Cry

sorry ,, this means you will have to replace the control board (ERC) to fix it

F9 Door latch supervisory Check door lock circuit or replace clock assembly (also called the ERC)

i dont think so.....

this happened before seven years ago when the house was new...

my daughter was a toddler, opening & closing the door several times,

then this *latch thing* happened

back then, i paid a zillion dollars for a jenn air tech to come out to my house

and he clicked a couple things & it was fixed in about a minute,

so im certain that it is a super simple thing... but i dont wanna have to

go thru all the stuff of getting a tech out here for a bunch of $

make an appt, wait for him to show up in *block of window* time,

and all that rather pay u.....ive already talked to jenn air 2x

and they said call a tech....any more advice????

wish there was but with this error code thats all can be done ,, sorry
