I have a 2.5 year old WFW9200 which sounds like a jet engine

Customer Question

I have a 2.5 year old WFW9200 which sounds like a jet engine during the spin cycle, what to do.
I have fixed my old washers in the past, maybe a bearing?

Hi, is it banging also when it spins, or just the high pitch noise? Open the door and spin the tub, move it up and down, is there alot of play.
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
It is not a high pitched noice like metal sliding on metal.
It is a low rumble and the volume increases the faser the washer spins.
No banging noise.
The tub does not move up and down easily but can move it front and back

Remove back panel. Make sure nut holding the main pulley is tight. If it is tight you have a bad bearing. The bearing is part of the rear outer tub. Check owners manual for warranty. I believe the rear outer tub/rear bearing has a five year warranty on it.
