Resolved Question:

We have a GE double oven (326B1230P001) and the top oven (self cleaning-the lower is not) will just turn off. The control panel goes blank. Usually we can hit the controls and reset the clock and start the oven again. Sometimes it goes off again and sometimes it will work for awhile. Last year we had a FO error and had to replace a part in the control panel and that problem was corrected. This seems to be different as no "error code" is displayed. GE is definitely not our favorite appliance.

The best way to test this is when the display goes dead test for power to the control board. If you have power then you have a bad control board. If you dont have power look for a wire being pinched when the metal heats up and expands.

The control board is what we replaced a year ago ( and bought a replacement policy at that time), but the problem was different then. Since it is late now, we'll check the oven tomorrow. Will we still be able to check with you tomorrow after we check it?

Yes after you accept you will be able to talk to me. If you have the replacement for the control board I would replace it first.
