Resolved Question:

my whirlpool microwave model MH7140XFB-0 stopped working and now flashed code f6 where timer was. I unplugged unit to see if it would reset, without success.

Hi F6 refers to a bad relay in the control board. Take the grill out across the top and then remove the control panel. Disconnect the control board and give it a tap with your hand both sides to see if this dislodges the relay. If this fails to fix the F6 error you will need to replace the control board.
