Is there something I can service/clean myself?
I'm guessing the automatic pilot is not igniting the gas.

do you hear a slight click when you turn the dryer on , do you get heat at first then nothing.

If your getting heat for the first few minutes the problem is with these gas coils there situated on the gas burner replace these coils it will fix the problem.

Do they tend to go all at once or start with intermittent failure?
It starts with an intermittent problem most times but can also happen all at once, its a common part to fail in all gas dryers.

I ordered the parts. Where do I access to install them.. front, back?
remove the screws on the door hinges and lift off the door , remove the two screws on the opposite side of the opening and pull the front panel on the coils are on the left on the burner.

in the factory schematic "door" refers to the front and "cabinet panel" is the back - I am assuming you are referring to the large back vented access panel, correct?

This is the breakdown of your dryer the door and front panel are at the front and not the back.
