i have a sub zero 590, the condenser fan motor is always running,

Customer Question

i have a sub zero 590, the condenser fan motor is always running, the freezer and fridge compressor turn on and off regularly, and both sides cool without a problem, what could cause this, the only thing i could figure would be the condenser relay, please let me know what could be causing this

cleaning coils and "resetting" (turning of for 30 minutes)

The only thing that could cause this is a faulty defrost timer. The defrost timer is the only thing that will turn that fan off. The condenser is always running to cool the compressor unless the the unit goes into defrost---at which point it will shut the fan down for 30 seconds. Here is a picture of the defrost timer.

correct, there are only two fans. There is the evaporator fan inside the Refrigerator and that one will run whenever the refrigerator turns on or needs to get colder. And the other is up above by the compressor and that one will run all the time except when it goes into defrost.appliance Doc40287.5364481481
