Resolved Question:

I have a GE TDC18PAABB fridge, and the fridge side every few weeks stops working. we have had a tech come out and he removes the lower panel inside the fridge and chips away ice that has built up in the drain area.

is there anything that can be done to eliminate the ice build up? and why is this happening now?

does the refrigerator stop working or is it just a drain problem?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
it stops the fan from blowing the cool air up the opening, and at times found the fan blade stuck in the ice build up

you have a defrost problem in this, most likely the defrost heater is bad, its located under the coils in the freezer behind the back panel in the freezer, you need to remove the panel and defrost the coils completely then replace the heater, this will solve your problem, thanks Bryan
