with a screwdriver or putty knife slide it in about 2-3 inch in from outside edge of the top panel and release the tabs and raise the top top panel, start the washer in spin and hold the tub and tell me if you still hear the noise please
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
OK. Give me a few minutes to do that and I'll let you know.

ok thanks

I'm struggling with releasing the tabs. I'm assuming these are the black ones on the front outside edge. I've got a 3/8" gab opened but need to know exactly where the release is.
Expert:  Appliance Tech Larry replied 6 years ago.
they are in the gap between the top and front panel
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I've gotten the top panel open. I'll try the spin cycle now while holding the tub.

ok ,, thanks
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I ran the spin cycle while holding the tub and none of the noise was there.

sorry to hear it ,, if you had noise it would be the pump but in this cause you will have to call in a service tech to pull down the bottom of the washer and see which part needs to be replaced ,, this isn't something just anyone can do ,,, really sorry for the bad news but the best ones to call on this would be sears at 1-800-4MY-HOME
