I have an LG fridge freezer rated 230v 50hz can I use it on a power suply 220v 60hz?
Optional Information: Make: LG Already Tried: nothing
no the compressor will not work properly or for very long it will cause the compressor to overheat. and fail.
Is there a solution to the problem
They do now have 50hz to 60 inverters .
But from what I here they are Expensive (Several hundred Dollars)
Now are you sure you want to convert it to 240 volts 60 hz OR 120 volts 60 hz?
I am moving to the Philippines where the suply is 220v 60hz, ind as the fridge is brand new I would like to take it with me. Is it possible to convert it to work on 110v 60hz and use a step down transformer?
the standard ref runs on 120 volts ,thats why I`m asking .
And 240 volts 50 hz is standard over sea`s which is normally converted to 120 volts 60 hz
I live in the UK at the moment where the suply is 240v 50hz. The fridge was manufactured in Poland and designed for the UK. I am going to live in a country where the voltage is 220 at 60hz.
ok Now I under stand , then it will run but the motors and compressor will run faster ,which means it will shorten the life of the unit .
