We have a Maytag clothes dryer model MDG9316BWQ. The issue

Resolved Question:

We have a Maytag clothes dryer model MDG9316BWQ. The issue is that we when we set the timer to start drying the mechanism does not engage and we hear the audible sound as if they desired time frame has finished. We fidddle around with it and it gets going. The knob is really in a free moving state and we do not hear the "clicking" sound.
