this is from the buildup in the sump and the pump and motor, this stuff gets stuck in these area's over the years,you will need to uninstall the dish washer and take everything off, the pump and motor and all the hoses and clean them completely out, a steam cleaner works well for this. this can be a pain though. if you get me the model # XXXXX'll get the parts pictures on what to clean, thanks Bryan
