my Masterbuilt 20070106 Electric Smoker keeps tripping my GFCI outlet when I use an extension cord. it will not work at all when I plug it in w/o extension cord. I brought it inside the house to warm it up (for 2 hrs). Tried to use it again and it still did not work. Help!!!! I need to cook some porkribs 2day.

THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH GFCI OUTLETS....they perceive the heating element as a short circuit! Also using ANY heating device on an extension cord is not really recommended since current draw of a heating element is very high. My only suggestion is to use a non gfci outlet for your smoker thanks happy new yeat
