I have a 7-year old Whirlpool Imperial Series washer that stopped

This answer was rated:

I have a 7-year old Whirlpool Imperial Series washer that stopped working in the middle of a cycle. The washer will not re-start or drain and makes a quiet humming/grinding sound when I try to restart the cycle. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The humming noise could be the drain pump being clogged ..or worse off the drive motor is bad,....The only way to find out is to gain access to the inside and run the washer to inspect where the problem might be...That way you can see which is causing the problem first hand
