I have an older caloric oven and the igniter stopped glowing

Resolved Question:

I have an older caloric oven and the igniter stopped glowing so the oven will not work. Do igniters wear out and would replacing it probably solve the problem?

Yes they do wear out.You need to make sure it is getting voltage if it is then replace it.It gets 120 volts.

Does this involve buying some kind of voltmeter and testing the 2 wires going to the igniter?
Expert:  Tom Johnston replied 6 years ago.
If you remove the drawer that is where you will find the connection for the igniter.Unplug it and test for power when you select bake.Yes you need a voltage tester.
