Hi! I have a Whirlpool washing machine model number lsl9244eq/z.

Customer Question

Hi! I have a Whirlpool washing machine model number lsl9244eq/z. When I turn it on to begin the wash cycle, nothing happens. However, when I turn it directly to the spin cycle, it starts right up with no problem. It seems like nothing to do with filling the machine with water or actually washing works, but the spin cycle fires up just fine. Any ideas what the problem may be? I have checked and the water is turned on going to the machine and working properly. This problem just started today. I used the machine 2 days ago with no issues.

Thanks so much!

Thanks. Is the part fairly easy to install?
Expert:  Appliance Man replied 7 years ago.
It is pretty easy. To remove the console just remove the 2 screws in the back corners of it.

I detached the top of the machine and there is a black strip inside that the control knobs are wired to. Is this the console covering the board?
Expert:  Appliance Man replied 7 years ago.
Look under it and see if you see the board.

Do you have any more questions? I see this question is still open.

I took apart the entire upper part of the washer. The black strip I referred to was just a strip of metal that the control knobs are mounted to inside the top panel. there is no board underneath. I completely took apart everything I could see and still no sign of the board.

This part seems to be a bit more difficult to remove. Are you pretty sure replacing this will fix the problem?

I ordered and recieved the part you specified. I just finished installing it and the washer still does not work. I double checked to make sure it was installed properly and it is. Any other ideas?
