Customer Question

I have an old Kenmore refridgerator model #106.8646310. I keeps food cold even turned low. It collects water in the bottom of the unit. About 1 -2 pints every 4-5 days. I put a strip of paper around the door and pull it out and it pulls firmly. The magnetic gasket seems fine all the way around.

I can not find a drain hole for the water ( I don't know if it is frost free) and there is no evaporator pan under the unit.

What is causing the water and how can I fix it?

The water is leaking from the freezer. This is a common problem on this model. You need to install a defrost drain hole heat probe. You can order the part from this link. The part comes with instructions on how to install it. http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-819043-%3d%3di726493&PartID=726493
