You will have an air flow problem(not cooling the magnatron) or the magnatron is going bad. It can be dangerous working inside a microwave because the capacitor can hold 4000 volts when unplugged. If you do not hear a fan when it is to be running that would be the place to start. If the unit is over 5-years old the mag in no longer under a warranty and will cost more than $300 to repair. You can replace the unit starting at this price. If you do think it is mag and it is still under warranty call(NNN) NNN-NNNNfor a servicer in your area.
