Our dryer starts when I push the start button, but stops as soon as I take my finger off the button. Can you please help?

Same thing. Nevertheless, you will have to test the switch. I don't have the model number so I can't tell you how to open the control panel (maybe screws or clips or both). Make sure the dryer door is closed. Then you need to jump the start switch. If you do that and it works you'll need to replace the start switch. If it doesn't work you may need a new control board.Parts are available at RepairClinic.com

P.S. I've tapped the start switch so that it is constantly being "pushed" and the dryer stays on.

With this unit I believe the end caps are removed exposing the console hold down screws. Disassemble to replace switch and reassemble.

On that model the micro computer is the problem.The start switch is ok.

I have replaced many of those for just that reason.
