I have a Maytag washer and it is full of water and clothes.

Resolved Question:

I have a Maytag washer and it is full of water and clothes. It just stopped and I haven't been able to get it to do anything for about 3 hours.
Model - LAT8624, Serial #A0107447KU

I did check and there is electric going to the machine.

Does the machine have an internal fuse?

most likely you have a blown fuse in the lid switch assembly,

Washer lid switch assembly complete with fuse *Open fuse indicates bad lid switch assembly.
Part 1468
this is located in the control panel. check the fuse and let me know. thanks Bryan

Do I get to the control panel and the fuse from the back of the washer? I know where the lid switch is from the front.
Expert:  Bryan replied 6 years ago.
ok i think on your model there are screws along to top of the control panel unplug the machine # XXXXX on this diagram, remove them and tilt the control forward. you will see the switch then.

Can I purchase the fuse anywhere they sell fuses?

Expert:  Bryan replied 6 years ago.
well this generaly means the lid switch is faulty, but you can go to lowes and they probably have one, you can try replacing it but the switch may be bad. there are two switches and a fuse on these its reccomanded you repplace the switch assembly. even a fuse may not fix this. the whole switch assembly is around $26.00 @ hope this helps, thanks Bryan
