Our 3 week old GE Profile has stopping cooling either the fridge

Resolved Question:

Our 3 week old GE Profile has stopping cooling either the fridge or freezer. It's model PFSS5PJYSS. The temps are set to 37 fridge/0 freezer. The actual temp this morning was 54 fridge/15 freezer. I lowered the set temps 5 degrees and two hours later both the fridge and freezer have warmed up 2 degrees. There is power to the fridge and we have a door alarm, so the doors were fully shut all night.

What could be the problem and how can we get the unit to cool back down?

if you open the freezer, do you hear a fan running inside?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
The only noise I hear is a highpitched whine.

where is this noise coming from?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
It's coming from the back of the unit. We were told this was the sound of the compressor. We don't hear a fan running in the fridge either.

there shouldn't be a fan inside the fridge, just the freezer. This is the component that pushes and circulates the air through the freezer into the refrigerator. If this fan isn't running this is going to be you're problem. it's located inside the freezer behind the back wall. I wouldn't recommend tearing apart your freezer however---it will void your warranty.
