As an ex technician for Sears, please allow me to tell you DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TIME YOUR MACHINE!!! This needs to be done by a qualified and trained technician and any attempt to do this may end up in a NON REPAIRABLE unit! PLEASE take it to the nearest SEARS SERVICE CENTER or Sears Store for repair. THANKS! Smile

Even if you do not accept my answer, PLEASE follow my advice or you could end up with a nice boat anchor!

Is it that difficult to replace the belt?
Expert:  RUSS replied 7 years ago.
Replacing the bet is not too bad the timing IS the most difficult thing to do in the unit!
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Thread got wrapped around the top shaft under the belt, so I removed the belt to get all the thread out. I did replace the belt, but the bobbin was not in time with the needle. So, you are saying that only a trained professional can get the machine back in working order?
Expert:  RUSS replied 7 years ago.
ABSOLUTLY! I feel VERY strongly about this!
