Hi. I have an Amana Refigerator. The freezer stays around 35 to 37 degrees. Model # XXXXX Serial # XXXXX ..The unit is approx. 8 years old...
Make: AmanaModel: bx21tl Already Tried: Nothing at this point...
Hi thanks for the question.
Open the freezer door and tell me if you feel frost on the freezer wall and can you hear a fan motor going.
Fan is working fine. No frost...Model # XXXXX Amana and serial # XXXXX
Pull the fridge out and clean the coils by the compressor and make sure the fan motor is going this can cause the problem
I put the refridgerator on its side to clean it. How long before I can plug it in again..
On its side.Oh now you have to wait a few hrs before you can plug it back in.Were the coils dusty
They were a mess. Few hours? 2,3,4?
Two should do it.The coils are very important to the cooling proess .Keep them clean. It can burn out the compressor.
I beleive that cleaning the coil should do it. Thank you for your help...
Not aa problem.
good Luck

Good Morning: My refridgerator and freezer now dont work properly now. Any other advice possibly!
Is every part going like the compressor and the freezer fan motor and the fan motor by the compressor.
Yes. That is correct...
You will have to take the freezer panel off and look at the freezer coils .
I have to know if you have frost on the coils and how much frost you have.
Very light frost on the top of coils. Approx. 10% frost...
If thats the case the compressor is not pumping .No compression you need to replace the compressor and thats expensive.
Thank You. Time for a new Fridge...
Sorry about the bad news.
