I have a GE PDS18SBMALBS refridgerator. It is very noisy and the top does not get cold enpough and the freezer is fine. I thought the compressor was going but if the freezer works then it can't be the compressor. What is wrong with it.
Make: General ElectricModel: GE PDS18SBMALBS Already Tried: I emptied the whole refridgerator unplugged it for a day and put it all back in and plugged it in. The freezer is fine but the top is barely cold. The refridgerator run all of the time, that is why I thought it might be the compressor.
is it blowing cold air
No
ok in the freezer is there ice buildup in the back wall of the freezer

No build up
hi there sorry i just came on. it sounds like there is blockage in the airflow to the top because you say vthe freezer is fine. that means the freezer is in the bottom,so the air is going upward, what number is XXXXX setting on.
I tried all the settings and I left it on 6 for now but it is not cold enough.
Thats it.... how do I unblock the airflow....and that would cause the refridgerator to run nonstop 24/7
well
Do you have an answer for me?
the control has numbers on it set it on number 3 now if the fridge is running 24 /7 as you say that cant happen you will have many other issues it may be cutting off very minimal but it is cutting off .
How does putting the control on 3 help? The refridgerator does run all the time sometimes it gets loud and sometimes it just rumbles softly but it is constantly running and it is not as cold as it should be. Someone said I should change the compressor. Do you think changing the compressor will resolve my problem?
if its not as cold ,unless there is a leak the compressor is still cooling ,so you may just want to have somebody charge it up unless u just choose to replace the compressor,if both fans are not noisy at all then i would just charge it.consider your options
Your reply doesn't make sense how do I resolve the noise issue and the fact that it is not cold enough.
