On as Whirlpool Design 2000 washing machine, as it started the spin cycle following the sash cycle, it was badly off balance. I pushed in the on/off switch, adjusted the load, closed the door, pulled the switch out and it wouldn't resume the spin cycle. I turned the selection nob around through the wash cycle and it proceeded normally, until I got to the spin cycle again, where it stopped. I proceeded past the spin setting to the rinse settings which worked fine. Then, on to spin where it again wouldn't run or drain. I tried other wash options with the same results. In short, it won't spin or drain on any of the settings designated to do so.I have unplugged the machine and opened the control pannel face. The info on the lid mentions a fuse, but I don't see one. Can you advise?
Hi thanks for the question.
It was fine till you had the off balance load.
Please send me the model number I will look for that fuse. Most washers dont have a fuse.
Sorry - I am unable to locate any other modle # (or a typical numbers plate0 anywhere on the machine. Design 2000 is all I can find.
Open the lid .You will see a cavity where the lid switch striker is suppose to hit the lint switch.Use a pencil and push in to that cavity do you hear a clicking when you move it up and down..If you don't hear the click .The problem is with the lid switch.
The lid switch hangs loosly in the down position. It has been that way for some time, but the machine continued to operate anyway. There is no click as I raise or lower the switch.
How do I get the switch out and where do I find a replacement?
Thank you.
Send me the model number and I will send you a video on how to remove the cabinet to replace the lid switch.
I still don't know where to find the mole #, serial #, etc. If you can help me locate it, I'll send it immediately.
Its usually under the lid
Thank you. The numbers are:

I was also able to remove the lid switch by tilting the tub, It tried to click once or twice, but otherwise floats with gravity. Info on the switch is: CHERRY E 13, then on the other side, 359230 FSP 529.
