I have the fisher paykel ecowasher. It will cycle through

Customer Question

I have the fisher paykel ecowasher. It will cycle through fill, and wash, but when it comes to the rinse cycle, it seems to be trying to switch to drain, but it continues to fill, off and on. When I go into diagnostic mode and do the drain pump test, it fills instead of draining. The water valve test is normal. the fault code test comes back normal. I flipped it on it's side and took of the white valve that has three hoses attached, and a orange and black lead. I blew through all the hoses, nothing is clogged. It seems to be stuck in the fill position. If you could tell me what I need, and how to get it, that would be helpful.

Expert's Answer

Let it keep going and wait till it starts beeping at you with an error. The top eight progress lights will tell you your error. Tell me which ones are lit up. Example(1,3,5) from left to right.

If I let it keep going, it will continue to fill. Will it start beeping at some point before it overflows?

Expert's Answer

Yes but keep an eye on it at some point it should give you an error code.

Expert's Answer

ok, if it overfills then you definitely have a bad control board, so I'm not saying it won't overfill but it shouldn't. The board keeps track of how much water has entered in the tub and if it detects more water than the tub can hold it will stop and give an error code.

OK, it's still on wash cycle. I'll just check back in 8 minutes.

It is filling up very slowly. I will probably take an hour at least to reach any point where it would be detected to be too high. It's only about 1/4 full. I could add water with a hose I guess.

Expert's Answer

no don't do that or it'll ruin the process and won't give an error code.

Pump blocked error. Can you tell me how to fix that and where it is?

Expert's Answer

ok perfect.

You'll want to drain out as much water as you can in the tub first, then unplug the washer. Tip the machine backwards so you can access the bottom.

The drain pump is located in the bottom front right corner. There is a little plastic locking tab that you push and you can twist the pump out of the bottom of the tub. You can make sure there isn't anything blocking the pump. If you don't find anything, then follow the hose that comes out of the drain pump and goes back to the back right corner at the bottom of the tub. Remove the hoses and check for blockages if the pump checks good.

It's getting late. I'm going to have to do this tomorrow, but I will be happy to accept and give you a good recommendation. Two questions. Does "pump blocked" result in the problem I am having? and the second - "the bottom front right corner". So if the unit is standing in it's usual position, the pump is in the front right corner, only underneath?

Accepted Answer

that is correct for both questions.

This issue definitely fits the problems that you have been explaining so when you find the blockage you should be back in business. The bottom front right corner is in relation to when the washer is resting in a normal position with you standing in front of the washer.
