Resolved Question:

old whirlpool dryer 1d19801y1 flame comes on but shuts off after a few minutes---unit does cycle flame back on after a little while. glow coil new and works. want wiring diagram if it can be located. suspect faulty flame sensor or limit?

well niether of those #S work but if the flame comes on and then shuts off after a couple of minutes its not the flame sensor, or thermostat, most likely its the gas coils not holding the valve open. the only problem is without being able to look this up i dont know which coils you have. does your setup look like this with plug in coils? Gas Dryer Gutsor are there wires connected striaght out of the coils? let me know . thanks Bryan

No the gas valve is on a 90 deg bend from burner and has two activators (coils) with wires to them.

ok thats not a good thing because allot of these are no longer available and with the age of the dryer they have taken this out of the databases, so even finding the part is going to be a challenge, I will try though, give me some time to see what I can find. thanks Bryan

Bryan----am a refrigeration tech----can probably locate parts at Appliance Parts here in Long Beach, CA are youtelling me I probably need the coil(s) or the valve itself?
