My stackable GE dryer is making a squeaking noise. Not when I initially turn it on but after a few minutes. Any ideas?
Make: GEModel: ? stackable Already Tried: nothing.
Hi, Sounds like the rear drum bearing is going bad. You have to take the front off and remove the drum to get at it. Cheap part though if that is in fact the problem, Noise usually starts exactly how you described it.
So If I unscrew the front metal covering with the holes. Where will I find the drum and is this something my husband and I can do? Also where do you get the part? HomeDepot? Do I need the model number inorder to replace or is it standard.
Thank you for your help. I will be accepting your info for payment.

The "drum" is the part you put the clothes in. If your husband is handy he could handle it, I will advise though that stackables are a bit of a pain to work with! The part could be ordered at any appliance repair facility, Im not sure that Home Depot would be able to aquire it, and yes you will need the model number. The part sits clear on the back side of the drum.
