Hi,
I have a older model Kenmore Heavy Duty washer purchased back in 1992. The motor has started making a loud noise.
It stills fill and empties the water. But won't turn the adgater. Also have model number(NNN) NNN-NNNNSer A2301604.

Any Ideas and can I fix it myself very handy.

Hey Ross.

 

Pull the washer away from the wall and lean it backwards. Look under the unit where the motor and transmission connect together. The sound you are hearing is most likely coming from the coupler that joins the two together. It is an easy repair for you if you are handy. The part number you need is 285753A and it is less than 20 dollars. If you replace it you will be up and running in no time. Let me know if you have any other questions.
